The Book " Rafiki" meaning " friend" in swahili is written about the life of Joseph William McFarnell and his contribution to sport in Kenya by Mike McFarnell.
Apart from Mac's exploits in creating a framework for multi racial sport in Kenya he campaigned for his own country of birth, South Africa, to adopt a new path away from Apartheid.
His childhood and family background help to build a picture of his life which was spent mostly in Africa but from 1963 in Britain.
This book has been written for family and friends but after much pressure
I have made it available for many more who I hope will be interested in this small part of sporting history.
